This will give you another sample to show you that you can make these little books with many themes. Look at the following blog for more ideas and how to make a book.

The themes for this book came from this first image which is on the front cover and the title tells what this little book is all about. As soon as I saw this image a poem story burst into my head. To make my front cover a matching theme to the rest of the book, I cut 6 strips of the cardstock that you will see inside the book pages. Then I mounted them on plain white cardstock. I ran a small strip of white against the binding side and then punched the holes with the book binder. I liked the white offsetting the rainbow colors because it reminded me of clouds.

This is a great recycling idea. The back cover of this book is white and my image and title are on top of the strips of colors. So to protect them I went into my bag of recycled clear box tops. I save them from gift or other boxes and cut off the sides and bag them flat for reuse later. This plastic is much heavier that clear book covers and of course you do not need to buy anything. I simply cut the clear covers for the front and back the same size as my book and then punched the holes. I opened the clear cover so that you can see how it looks.

Everything is simple. I wrote my poetic story first, and then used my gathered images for each part of the poem. On the first page of the story I separated the words with all six colors of my rainbow.

When you turn the page the color is red, so I used red ink only to print this part of the story and mounted in on red cardstock. Another rainbow image conjures up visions for the readers mind.

And then on to green.

I love using pearl cardstock in my little books and I only had a golden yellow. However I loved this image with the bright yellow color so I used it. Don’t be afraid if things do not match perfectly. You cannot always find the matching image and paper product colors. Remember that to deviate is to design.

Next is orange. I had already written the words and then found this wonderful image of a child reaching to touch the rainbow.

The color purple was difficult to find an image that fit my story, so I veered away from it and used this rather unique rainbow image with the purple color in the center.

When I found this wonderful image with saying, I knew it would be perfect for the blue.

The last page is all white the same way as the first page when you open the book. Once again I used all 6 colors for the printed story part. And this paintbrush rainbow fit perfectly with the end of my story.

Once again I remind you that if you want to sell these books, DO NOT USE IMAGES YOU FIND ON THE INTERNET. You can purchase images from any royalty free company who offers them. Only do this to give as special little gifts for your family and friends. A book would be a wonderful replacement for a card. Just sign it and give. Now have plenty of fun and make your own little gift books.

It is time now to begin working on your Christmas gifts and what better way than to make a very personal book for an adult or a child.

I did not decide on the title until I had finished my book. Then I die cut a frame and glued the title on the front. So simple and easy. You do not have to have a die cut machine. Many frames and decorations are available in scrapbook shops or on line. Or just cut colorful pieces of cardstock larger than your title and glue it on top.

Making a little board story book is easy. Decide the size and cut out two pieces of cardstock for every page then glue them together. This little book is five and a half inches wide, four inches tall. You can bind them together when finished by going to your local copy or office supply store. You can decide on a subject then collect images. Remember these images are more than likely copyrighted, so do not try to sell your little books. This should be done to give personal books to those you love.

I am a poet and writer so I can stare at images and come up with a poetic storyline. You don’t have to do this. Simply write a simple line. I started the first two pages without any image. It is an opening for my story. The story is actually about a woman in her midlife crisis but animals make it funny. The kids have grown up and moved out and all she does is clean the house.

It all started because I collected animal images that made me laugh. This one is of a small Pomeranian dog soaking on its back in a sink full of bubbles. I wondered how on earth they made it stay there when there is no way my dog would do this. So I wrote a short verse about soaking in a tub.

And of course most women exercise and some adventurous ones exercise on a dance pole, so when I saw this image of another little dog hanging from a pole it was the funniest picture and I laughed. Perfect. The whole point of making a book is to make someone laugh. Try to personalize it to her taste if you do not want to use animals.

Two birds that look like they are having a really good natter on top of a flowing water faucet, gave me this idea.

And like many women do, my thoughts turned to lunch out with friends, so three little ducks chewing on flowers was just right.

And this image of giraffes reminded me how silly we get with some of our friends, or in my case me with my sister when we haven’t seen each other in a long time. Plus of course some of our silliness can cause a few cracks in the old bones.

Now when I saw this group of Pink Flamingos I thought of how we often get together in a group and size each other up. Age will do that to you.

And of course when women are feeling the empty nest syndrome they have to have a chat about the future.

The end of an evening as we get older is much earlier than when we are teenagers, so the bed looks really good to climb into once we get home. And it is nice if you have someone to snuggle up to.

So now you know how simple it is to make a special little board book for any woman who needs a little pick-up or a birthday gift. It costs so little to make something like this. Of course it is very time consuming but if you care, what is time. Making a book for children is even easier. Think of the things they love. Have fun.

Help! I’m drowning in paper! Pretty paper yes… but it’s taken over. So what to do? Organize of course. Sharing my secrets of paper organization with you.

So I start with buying a bunch… A BUNCH of clear paper sleeves for 3-ring binders. Make sure you find some wide enough to hold multiple sheets of paper… they are not all alike.

OK, that’s better… but I’m still having trouble finding what I’m looking for with the stack system. So I sat down and after staring at it for quite a while… thought books. I need books to store all this paper. But have you checked prices on this stuff lately? It would cost a fortune. And I’m broke. So I need to make some instead. As cheap as I can. Start with going to the dollar store… and buying foam sheets. After that you will need to find some cheap wallpaper… unless you’re from money in which case what on earth are you making these for? I know… a challenge! Lowes used to be the spot for cheap wallpaper having a grand clearance about twice yearly. But these days I couldn’t tell you where to find stuff… I shop in my own warehouse these days. So down the hall I have a huge stash of wallpaper. Which has not made it’s way on the wall, but now it’s time to use some.

As you can see it’s from Lowes. Cheap. Heavy textured wallpaper in a nice neutral color. You can choose whatever color your heart desires… wallpaper comes in all shades & patterns. Next we need glue. But what glue will work? The first one I chose from storage worked fine. 3M General Purpose 45 glue.

The only other things you’ll need that are not easy to find are a screw hole punch and screw posts. Online you can find these things… shop around in advance and prepare for what size you’ll want. I chose 1-1/2″ screw posts. Next time I will do 2″.

Paper is 12″x12″. One piece of 20″x30″ foamboard will give you one book or binder with some leftovers for smaller books later. You’ll need to cut out 2 pieces of 13″x12-1/2″ and also 2 pieces of 1/2″x12-1/2″ for the front & back pieces. The spine you’ll need to factor in the height of your screw posts for the spine, it’s the same height as your screw posts, so 1 piece cut 1-1/2″x12-1/2″.

If you use a lot of foamboard, invest in a foam cutter and ruler. Mine is from Foamworks.

Time to assemble the basic books. Get some duct tape. Not the fancy stuff… basic gray will do fine you’re not going to see this under the wallpaper.

The spine requires most of the duct tape. Assemble as shown starting with one side.

Add the front and back ½”pieces… only duct tape the outside, these need to be able to flex when you open the book.

Now duct tape the front and back covers on.

If you want a nice book-like curved edge, you’ll have to plump up the spine a bit. Use some of the leftover wallpaper and fold it a couple times, then duct tape it to the spine.

Now cut the wallpaper. This is where I guesstimate. Leave about 2 inches all around the book so you can fold the flaps over easily.

Before you go any further… get setup outside with a table covered with painters plastic. Spray glue stinks to high heaven and you don’t want to breath poisons. Take your pieces outside and get ready to give the wallpaper a nice even coat. Then press the book onto side, slowly roll in over for the other side. Don’t glue it down flat… it will not close. This may take some practice to get it looking right, prepare for the first couple of books to not look that great until you get the hang of it.

Now you’ve got it glued… time to secure all the edges. Cut slots like these on the spine, and lope off the corner pieces.

Next start folding the pieces over gluing them down. This glue is strange… you won’t feel sticky but it will still stick. It has a pretty good worktime… I take my time doing each book in about 20-30 minutes. Don’t worry about the glue drying on you… it will still stick in this amount of time.

The spine requires a little more cutting out pieces. It helps when you fold and glue it down. It won’t be perfect… but it works.

The spine is not perfect… it has a couple little pieces I just cut them off and it’s fine enough for me. If you have a better way… do it.

Now we need to make this cover a real book… get the screw punch. Open the book and place one of your clear sleeves on the edge so you’ll know where to punch. It needs to be on the ½” strip of between spine & cover. Have a cutting mat underneath so you won’t cut through the table.

Flip it around and do the same on the other side.

Now get your screw posts out. Start putting them through the holes.. they will need a bit of persuasion… it’s a tight fit.

This is your front side you’re putting the screw posts through. Once done, lay the book open front side down and start loading up your paper!

Fold the back side down once your done and secure the back side with the screws. If you really want the inside to look nice you can glue down a piece of paper to cover the pieces turned down inside. But for me… I will do this later.

Your book is done… label the edge to finish.

Prepare to build a bookshelf full of storage binders… organizing is addictive. So what are you waiting for… go get some supplies!

We should rename this machine to eCrap. Great idea… they just didn’t put in the time to get it right 100%. Here’s my story of excitement turned to return.

So this is not really my first eCraft. This is the second one after the first one was sent back. I did contact eCraft customer support and after being told there wasn’t anything wrong with the machine… I went with my instinct and returned it rather than back over it with the car. I WAS RIGHT! There was something terribly wrong with the machine I returned. No matter what I did it ate paper… turned it into an accordion and then proceeded to make horrible “stuck” noises. Didn’t matter what kind of paper, didn’t matter what settings, didn’t matter if it had a “backer” sheet. The machine was faulty. So anyone reading this wanting to kill their machine… you have a defective machine go with your instinct and exchange it! Mine was purchased from HSN and they were good to work with. My first purchase from HSN too. They have easy returns. The label was in the package I just marked what was wrong and sent it back. However they did charge me $8.95 for shipping it back to them and deducted it from the return cost. Considering it was defective… not so good.

So now about the “new” eCraft sitting on my desk. Beautiful machine… pretty purple color. Of course if it can’t cut it’s just a paperweight… which this one is not… it can cut everything I’ve thrown at it including coverstock of 110lb paper. Like a knife through butter this machine makes cutting look easy… which of course is how it’s supposed to be. I’m so excited to start really testing it with my designs!

To those of you with a cutting machine… there are a million models on the market! It’s confusing to say the least. A cutter is not a printer… it does require a bit of tech savvy to use these things. But don’t let it scare you… it’s worth the effort to learn. They can open up a world beyond scissors and paper… to let your imagination run wild and produce some stunning things you would spend days on with an exacto.

For the eCraft, there is little information out there beyond one dealer who hasn’t ever had a problem with the machine it seems. From what I’ve read on this machine she just lucked out to get a good machine right off the bat. The one I have the storage drawer does not close, and yes the one before this one was the same. A definite fault of manufacture. But I don’t care because it’s at the back of the machine and does not affect performance. There are some quirks to the machine and if you’re having problems make sure it’s not a setting before you decide it’s the machine. In my case I tried every depth setting, several thicknesses of paper, a backer for the paper… all with the same result of a stack of crumpled ripped paper. The point is… if you’ve done all that… it’s the machine and don’t let anyone including customer service tell you otherwise. EXCHANGE IT or better yet RETURN IT.

A word on “no cutting mat required”

This is not true. It’s not false either. You have to understand the machine flat out cuts better with a mat. BUT… the good news is “no glue required”. That would be a better way to put that. There’s a lot of women swear by mats from the dollar store. I don’t know what dollar store sells these, but if you can find them then go for it. I had some I bought years ago the same weight… payed a lot more than a dollar for… and they do work brilliant. Cake mats from the Cricut cake are also the same weight and work well, and have no glue so are perfect. I’ve heard cereal boxes work… but I don’t like the idea because I feel it would dull the blade quicker, although I have no proof to that effect. Anyway, whatever works for you, do it. The only material this machine does not require a mat for is heavy cardstock. Everything else… don’t waste your time use a mat. One word here… even with a mat the machine at times “shifts” the paper around and you will have a mess instead of a nice die cut.

Tabs

The machine has what is called “tabs” that hold a cut image onto the page. I have no doubt this was developed because of the “no mat required” deal. Tabs can be used or turned off, but be aware you have to control that option from the machine, not the software. I personally prefer them off, because I don’t like the little edges it leaves on the cutouts. It’s just personal preference and up to you whether you use them or not.

Depth Settings

I’ve only started but I can tell you even with the heaviest paper I have I didn’t need to go over 5. I took each thickness of paper I had and started each one at 2 cutting a simple heart increasing the level by 1 until I got it to cut. Then I marked each heart with the correct depth. My heart cheat-sheet if you will.

Heavy Coverstock (110lb)…. 5 without mat.

Regular Cardstock (80lb)…. 4 with or without mat.

Bond Regular Paper (20-28lb)…. 2 with mat.

Vellum…. 2 with mat.

If you’re still confused over paper and weights… here’s a simple chart:

Software & SD Designs

The eCraft machine is all power. However, the software is very basic. If all you need are simple shapes, the eCraft design team have that covered. If however, you’re like me and want to do more… you’ll ignore all those and jump right in. The SD card is only useful if you purchase eCraft designs. I looked at the format and as of right now, it’s not possible to write your own designs to the card. If anyone knows how to do that… by all means share what you know. eCraft does however let you import SVG designs and that does open up the doors to a lot of design potential. Many designs on the web are offered in SVG format. CorelDraw (what I use to design) exports in SVG. You cannot however cut direct to the machine from any other program than the proprietary eCraftShopPro software. So that creates 2 steps for me to design then cut.

The software is very basic. You can resize designs, flip & mirror, and create (although I don’t design anything in this software). About the only thing that I do use eCraftShopPro for is lettering. It does do an easy job of that. Just use the text tool and type in whatever you want to say, pick a font (which takes a while to find the right one to overlay), then you can adjust the kerning or ungroup so you can start to overlay each letter so when you cut it will stay one piece. It’s a learning curve to this, just play until you get it with cheap paper. Don’t start with the expensive stuff! The very best thing about this software however is the ability to quickly add shadows to text & graphics. In the style dropdown box it offers 4 selections: normal, shadow, blackout, or shadow blackout. It makes it a breeze to do text with shadows in a different color paper behind. So the software does have a use, and if you’re not tech savvy it will suit you just fine.

However, my personal opinion is if you decide to keep the eCrap, spring for after market software. I downloaded demo software from the two most popular, Make the Cut & Sure Cuts a Lot. My personal opinion is Sure Cuts a Lot is superior. For one reason… my SVG images import perfectly and in their original sizes without fussing about trying to resize them. Make the Cut you have “settings” that for the life of me I tried ever one under the sun and STILL images imported in assorted sizes. Please not they were all exported from the same program in the same way so there is no excuse for this. In the end… WINNER… SURE CUTS A LOT.

Print & Cut

It’s possible, others have done it, I haven’t yet. If you’re interested in that YouTube “eCraft hinge technique”. I personally think it’s too much trouble when it should have been built in.

Final Thoughts

This machine has good and bad like everything. Overall, it’s a great machine with a lot of potential. However, in the end both machines went back because I’d had it with the random imperfections of cutting. I have images that require they be exact to overlay one cut on top of the other… and this machine is flat out not accurate in the way it cuts. Not to mention they should have put in the time fixing the problems with the machine. If you decide to try it… do your research, see what others say, but don’t be swayed by a sale at HSN for $159… they are just trying to dump them on unsuspecting customers. I’ve ordered a Pazzles Inspiration instead and am now just waiting on delivery later this week so I can begin again.

It is time to welcome the newest member of your family by hand making a very special card that either you or the receiver will treasure for a lifetime. You can make them for a mom to be, grandma or grandparents to be, new baby arrival or baby shower invitations. These cards are so much fun to make and if you are waiting for you baby to be born, you can use a little creativity with the colors you choose.

I have written this tutorial to show you various uses of color and how to use the beautiful scrapbook papers that are on the market. There are two ways you can use this baby carriage in your cards. Either on the outside of the card or inside the card. When used on the outside, the carriage stands up against the front of the card.

Here you can see how I used it on the inside of the card, so that when you open it, the carriage comes out and stands up.

I love to use other creative paper products and on the front of this purple metallic card, I used a metallic heart shaped doily and simple glitter flower stickers and a frog 3-D sticker.

Here you can see how the carriage stands out from the back of the card when open.

There are many flat or 3-D scrapbook sticker sayings on the market for use with scrapbook pages, but you can also use them for your card making and they will enhance your card designs.

The baby carriage folds down to one side ready to go inside an envelope.

You can design matching or coordinating envelopes to hold your card.

A border of the same cardstock you used to make the card is a perfect edge to finish the envelope.

A sticker enhances the front of the envelope. You would not use this envelope to mail; instead you would place your finished card inside envelope in a bubble wrap envelope, so that the receiver has something to keep it in inside a special memory box.

If you do not know the sex of the baby, get creative with baby stickers such as teddy bears and colors that do not conform to convention. Here I used beige texture cardstock with brown metallic cardstock for the carriage and beige and black accent colors. The teddy bears did not need a lot of other color and the finished card has a definite vintage toy shop look.

I also got very creative on the inside of this card, by writing a special poem and carrying on with the teddy bear theme.

I had matching all over bear scrapbook paper and border paper so I cut out some of the bears to decorate my card.

And here is the border paper.

The card fit inside my handmade envelope and even a partial cut off bear was used to enhance the back of the envelope further.

The border paper is perfect without adding anything else to the front of the envelope. I centered the bear border to get the most out of it which is why I used a left over edge cut off bear on the back of the envelope.

You do not have to go with conventional pastel pink or blue for your card. I loved this glitter stars cardstock which is a great ‘a star is born’ theme.

And why not make your envelope just as creative. For the front I used a black and pink paper with the simple words ‘baby girl’.

And the back I used plain black and simple glitter baby feet stickers.

The card and envelope become a complete package which makes a very special gift.

My love of teapots and Tea sets has never altered regardless of the time spent away from my birth country of England. I was given my first silver plastic tea set with trolley for Christmas as a small girl and I never forgot it. Now I enjoy the real thing and my regular cup of tea. So recently my thoughts turned to how to make this very special pop-up teapot greetings card, first as a mailing bouquet and second to hold tea bags. Both will make your friends or family feel very special when they open the mail.

Here are three samples but I will also show you a forth further down this blog. That one was very special for me to make because it is for my sister’s Golden Wedding Anniversary. You can make this card and then it will go flat and fit inside a special envelope that you can also make. Then to protect it, you can mail it inside a bubble wrap envelope.

All you need to make this pop-up card is cardstock, scrapbook paper, stickers and glue. You can also use any and all of your scrapbook tools.

Time seems to slip away so easily and I did not realize that my eldest sister had been married fifty years tomorrow. So this card was a work of love because to be married that long is very special indeed. So I had to use their wedding photo from 1962 to personalize this card and make the card gold and add a bouquet of flowers that she could keep forever. You can punch out flowers, die cut them, or buy readymade die cut flowers for the bouquet. I used small glitter rhinestone flower stickers in the center of my die cut flowers for more depth and beauty. You can prop the teapot lid like this when adding flowers or put the lid on the pot.

The back of the card has a pocket where you include a hand written message card. Stickers decorate the plain gold cardstock I used to make the teapot card.

Here you can see how the card folds down flat for mailing.

Gold and white striped scrapbook paper makes a perfect envelope to house the card.

Stickers will finish your presentation for a beautiful card that is also a very special gift of love.

The teapot can also be used without flowers and hold three teabags as a different way to say how much you care. Stickers can express who it is for and a theme that fits the person. Three tea bags are inside the pot and you can just see the tops of the clear bags that hold the tea.

When it folds down one tea bag stays in the pot and the other two will go in the envelope each side of the card.

This is where your purchased stock of lovely scrapbook paper will come in. If you are like me, you have gathered up various kinds and this border paper will make wonderful coordinating envelopes.

Here you can see a perfect presentation of card and envelope for someone special in your life. You can see how the tea bags fit inside the envelope with the teapot card.

Just by adding two butterfly stickers and this special card was finished.

Once again I made a flower vase teapot card with a bright and bold Birthday theme. I used some flocked scrapbook paper on the teapot which not only looks beautiful, but feels lovely too. I layered two styles of punched/die cut flowers and added red rhinestones in the center. A few more red rhinestones enhanced the pot lid and a die cut Birthday greeting was all it needed to finish this greetings card.

I made the envelope out of the same flocked paper and added a die cut border to the edge to bring the color scheme together. You can also cut a fancy border with the wavy edged scissors you have in your tool box.

Here you can see that I die cut a message tag to sit in the plain black back of the teapot.

And now you can see what a perfect presentation it is for the person receiving this greetings card, just by making a matching envelope.

The tea bag card is perfect for any holiday. Add three different kinds or herb tea for someone you know loves various teas. Here I used gold cardstock with an overlay of dark green with gold spots scrapbook paper for the front of the pot. I die cut the gingerbread family which was part of a long border. You can also use some of the lovely raised 3-D scrapbook pieces sold in stores to decorate the front of the teapot. I used red stickers and rhinestones to accent the pot. Just have fun decorating this card and use any craft products you have on hand.

The back of the pot is kept simple and the color comes from the message card and a couple of stickers.

Simple red, green and white striped scrapbook paper made a coordinating envelope. Three gourmet tea bags go with this card.

Or you could buy ordinary tea bags and make small envelopes to put each tea bag in to match the big envelope. Template and instructions are included with tutorial for card. Just add a holiday sticker.

Many women who are getting married would love to buy a unique invitation for their wedding, but they often cannot afford them. So I decided to design a special card that could be used for weddings, engagements or anniversaries. You don’t have to have special skills to make this card and you use simple things that can be purchased anywhere such as scrapbook paper or cardstock, stickers, glue and for the ring stones, flat back acrylic rhinestones available in any craft supply store. This ring box pop-up folds flat and goes down inside an envelope.

To show you how to use this tutorial I made four different styles and colors. You can use the colors of your event decorations.

To make this card, I chose the color of the cardstock and then add a coordinating box color embossed paper and simple stickers for a have a fabulous unique card. You can make just a few of these for the special people who will attend your event and then make flat cards for others.

The ring box folds flat and goes down into a readymade envelope or you can make one to coordinate with the card.

Add a sticker to match the card on your plain envelope.

When I made this card, I first chose a wedding cake scrapbook paper to make the envelope and then chose coordinating colors to make the card and ring. I then added a bride and groom sticker on the front of the envelope.

Only thing ring stone stands up a little when it goes down into the envelope, so I suggest when you mail it out, you do so in a bubble wrap envelope.

You can make just one card to send to a newly engaged couple and I am sure your card will be treasured above all. Adding these stickers made the card beautiful.

This rose scrapbook paper was my inspiration for the colors I chose. I made the base card using cream pearl cardstock, the ring box with dusky rose pearl cardstock and used the rose paper for the envelope. Then I found stickers that were just right to go with them all.

Now you can see how it all goes together.

To make a 25th Anniversary card, I kept the card color simple, using silver cardstock for the card and ring box and enhanced it with stickers that stood out. Then I made the envelope with coordinating striped paper.

Because the stickers had pale blue in them, I used a pale blue stone in the ring.

It’s all about the presentation for when the receiver opens the card.

Making unusual greetings cards can give you so much joy and this unique style of basket pop-up cards is so much fun to do.

You can make these cards for any occasion and personalize them for the special people in your life. They will go down flat to mail and you can make matching or coordinating envelopes.
There are no special tools and all you need is scrapbook paper, stickers and glue.

You can make them out of any scrapbook cardstock or paper and add colorful single dimension or 3-D stickers to decorate.

Here you can see how well the card goes into the envelope I made using the same basket weave scrapbook paper.

Your basket can be filled with anything and this one I made for a birthday card. These 3-D cupcakes are colorful and fun. I used patterned scrapbook paper and added glitter and rhinestones.

I loved this flower scrapbook paper because it had most of the same colors as my card.

Of course I could not help but make an Easter Basket card and fill is with 3-D Easter stickers such as eggs, a chocolate bunny and a chick. I used a cake pick with Hoppy Easter to announce my message to the receiver.

And I used striped scrapbook paper to make the envelope in colors that enhanced the card.

This card was to send a friend a hug to help her through an illness. What better way to send a hug than doing it with a Teddy Bear. Then I surrounded the bear with floral stickers.

I used the same dark basket weave paper to make the envelope.

I like to add matching stickers on my envelope and then mail in an ordinary outer envelope so that this envelope does not get ruined in the Post Office machine.

If you would love to learn this card making skill, I can assure you that you do not need special equipment or artistic ability. The tutorial includes all pattern templates to help you cut out the basic card and complete photographed step by step instructions to make the card and envelope.

If you are tired of making the same old gift cards for the special people in your life, then this is the project for you. You can experience the art of paper engineering in a very simple way and surprise your friends with a gift in a very unique box and a matching greetings card. Or you can make these boxes for any event such as a garden wedding, anniversary or garden club luncheon.

All you need it cardstock, stickers and glue.

I designed the gift box with two different spouts. Your choice is using either a 3-D spout or a flat spout.

If you are going to be a bride in the spring or summer and want to send out a few very special wedding invitations to your family members, why not makes these boxes and fill them with your engagement photo, a small card with date and place and perhaps a special trinket such as a garden flower charm. Or you can send out a white flower seed packet with yours and the groom’s photo on the front and invitation date and time. You can also give to your bridesmaid a special gift in these boxes as a thank you for being in your wedding.

You can add simple decorations in your color theme such as stickers and ribbons as I did here.

To announce that it holds an invitation inside, simply add a sticker on top. Most people throw away their invitations, but I can guarantee they won’t throw away yours.

You can make matching cards to go with your box invitations to go to the other wedding guests. Or make them for special friends as birthday or get well cards. Just add stickers.

Handwrite or use stickers on the inside to announce the event.

This greetings card would be perfect to give with a live plant or bouquet of flowers.

You can also use the watering can add on flat on top of your handmade card.
